Museum at the Brig

In honor of those that served....

Built in Response to Pearl Harbor

The Brig stands as a sentinel of Farragut Naval Training Station, the world's second-largest naval training facility during WWII. Operating between 1942 and 1946, FNTS trained 293,381 naval recruits across its 4,000-acre complex.

Originally built as a confinement facility for unruly sailors, the Brig—with its barred windows and jail cells—housed the base's disciplinary operations. Today, owned by the State of Idaho, it functions as a museum dedicated to the recruits and servicemen who passed through this historic training center. The restored building displays memorabilia from boot camp, naval operations, and the war years.
